A unique experience awaits young people in the COLOURS Youth Project 2025: they can take part in a creative workshop led by Komoco collaborator Adriano Popolo. Together with the experienced dance teacher Carmen Scarano - an integral part of the THEATERHAUS+ productions - the young people create a five-minute choreography that is the result of an intensive creative process. Trust, cooperation and the integration of cultural diversity take centre stage. Young people not only learn new dance techniques, but also experience how the international dance world is characterised by cultural encounters - a valuable experience that they carry into their own lives.

The intensive training will be taught by a different member of KOMOCO every day. Further information on the instructors will follow shortly.
KC workshop is open to professional dancers and movers from different backgrounds. KC workshop aims to offer a sense of totality in a physical and sensorial way through the exploration and therefore the discovery of new possibilities with our bodies.
The intensive week takes place as part of a cooperation between Produktionszentrum and the COLOURS International Dance Festival 2025.

This KC workshop will be held by Komoco artistic director Sofia Nappi and KC co-funders and first collaborators Paolo Piancastelli and Adriano Popolo Rubbio. Participants are the intermediate-to-advanced NYU and visiting dance students.

This dance program is based on strong technical training, achieved by concentrating on the healthy and efficient use of the body to realize each person’s physical potential, and the development of the imaginative and creative elements of each individual. To this end, the instruction from Tisch’s permanent faculty of master teachers is integrated with that of major guest artists and company members.

This KC workshop will be held by Komoco dancer and KCTL member Glenda Gheller. It is dedicated to professional dancers and performers, offering an immersive experience both physically and sensorily. A multifaceted German composer, Hans Werner Henze (1926 - 2012) boasts a production that ranges from symphonic music to film music to opera. The sixth work in his catalogue, Der junge Lord was composed in 1964 to a libretto by his friend the writer Ingeborg Bachmann, who was inspired by the fairy tale The Ape as Man by Wilhelm Hauff, a 19th-century German fable writer. In an imaginary German provincial town, the life of the inhabitants is turned upside down by the arrival of an English nobleman, the enigmatic Lord Edgar, with his unlikely entourage of bizarre characters. …

New work for Sofia Nappi and Komoco, in the studio to create the movement scenes for the opera production “Der Junge Lord”, directed by Daniele Meneghini.

This workshop is open to professional dancers and movers from different backgrounds. The first part of the laboratory aims to stimulate the participants towards achieving a greater awareness of the body in a physical and sensorial way, starting with simple tools coming from somatic techniques, floorwork and sensorial stimuli. Consequentially, this practice allows us to explore the full potentiality of our bodies and helps us to gain greater focus on the real source of the movement, whilst exploring improvisational tasks. …

KC Workshop aims to offer a sense of totality in a physical and sensorial way through the exploration and therefore the discovery of new possibilities with our bodies. In KOMOCO research, this practice takes the name of Kreaturistic Character (KC) as we connect to the creature that we are - that we just forgot about - which consequently brings more awareness to our unique artistic individuality to be expressed in endless ways, from the highest volume of form to the most delicate, through a series of games and guided improvisation tasks. The laboratory ends with the sharing and learning of sections from KC choreographic repertoire.

Komoco immersive dance program for ADT Advanced Dance Training. The collaboration is confirmed for its second edition in 2025, with 4 weekends of workshops from January to April 2025 held by Sofia Nappi and Komoco dancers from KCTL legacy.

Last residency for the new Komoco production “The Fridas”. The inspiration comes from Frida Kahlo's painting The Two Fridas, and it explores the complex theme of human identity through a relationship of complicity and contrast between two dancers. However, the relationship between the two characters on stage goes beyond simple dualism. Through gestures that reveal intimacy and vulnerability, challenging conventions of masculinity, the dancers move through emotional states and become an expressive vehicle for the thousands of facets contained within each individual.

Komoco Unveiled is a visceral exploration of transformation and growth, inspired by the tale of Pinocchio but refracted through the lens of Komoco’s dynamic movement language. In this fragment of a larger work, the piece delves into the primal, physical process of change. The dancers' bodies, charged with tension and release, become living vessels for the emotional and psychological metamorphosis that mirrors just an extract of the journey of the carved wooden puppet awakening to a world of complexity, temptation, and self-realization. …
